Vintage Japanese Tiger Folding Fan | Gold Leaf Washi Paper Wall Art
Japanese Vintage Decorative Folding Fan (扇子 / Sensu, 飾り扇) ✨
This is an impressive Japanese folding fan (Sensu / 飾り扇) from the 1970s, sourced directly from a Japan government auction. Hand-painted on washi rice paper (和紙) with shimmering gold leaf (金箔 / Kinpaku), it features a powerful image of a tiger (虎 / Tora) prowling on rocks beneath pine trees.
The fan is mounted on lacquered wooden ribs, with bold brushstrokes and a strong traditional Japanese painting style. The artist’s signature (with seal) is inscribed on the right side.
