Vintage Japanese 1970s Lacquer wood Takatsuki Offering Stands Red Pair w Box
Vintage Japanese 1970s Lacquer wood Takatsuki Offering Stands Red Pair w Box
Authentic vintage Japanese Takatsuki (高月) offering stands, sourced from a Japanese government auction.
This is a matching pair of traditional elevated wooden altar stands finished in deep translucent red urushi lacquer. The natural wood grain flows beautifully beneath the lacquer surface, creating elegant organic patterns unique to each piece.
These stands remain unused, preserved with their original paper wrapping and original cardboard box, significantly increasing their collector value.
The original box label reads:
温 – Warm tone finish
貫通型 高月堅地 – “Kantsū-style Takatsuki with durable lacquer base construction”
五号 – Size No. 5
51247 – Original product number
“Kengaji” construction refers to a strong, traditional lacquer foundation technique used in quality urushi ware, confirming this is a properly crafted piece rather than decorative export ware.
🏯 Traditional Use
Takatsuki are used in:
• Shinto shrine offerings
