Traditional Japan into your home with this authentic Bizen ware (備前焼) Mizusashi jar, sourced from a Japanese government auction.

Bizen pottery is one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, celebrated for its raw, unglazed surface and powerful wabi-sabi aesthetic. This vessel is a Mizusashi — a fresh water jar traditionally used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Its earthy tones, natural kiln markings, and subtle ash effects make it a striking yet peaceful presence in any space.

Each Bizen piece is wood-fired for up to two weeks at extremely high temperatures, creating its signature iron-like hardness and beautiful natural patterns such as “Goma” (sesame ash markings).

The jar includes a fitted wooden lid, making it both functional and display-worthy.
