This is a genuine Japanese vintage Irabo-yaki chaire (茶入 – tea caddy) dating from the 1970s, crafted for use in the formal Japanese tea ceremony (chanoyu). It is not a sake bottle – it is specifically made for storing powdered green tea (matcha).

The pottery features a rich Irabo glaze, characterized by warm earthy tones, ash textures, and organic flowing patterns prized by tea masters. The caddy is accompanied by its original silk shifuku pouch and sits on a woven base, all housed in its original signed kiribako (paulownia storage box).

The calligraphy on the wooden box reads:
