Authentic Japanese vintage lidded wooden box, dating to the 1970s, sourced directly from a Japanese Government Auction. This piece is crafted from rare Chrysanthemum wood (Kikuka-moku / 菊花木), a highly prized natural burl wood known for its dramatic, flower-like grain patterns.

The box features a natural bark exterior, beautifully polished interior, and a matching fitted lid. Each surface displays unique organic figuring, making this a one-of-a-kind piece. Originally intended for refined storage or decorative use, it also makes an excellent collector display, tea ceremony accessory, or wabi-sabi interior accent.
