Japanese Shogi Koma King Piece Oak Wood Signed Traditional Game Tile Japan
Japanese Shogi Koma King Piece Oak Wood Signed Traditional Game Tile Japan
Authentic Japanese Shogi “koma” game piece dating to the 1970s, beautifully hand-crafted from solid oak wood and signed by the artist on the reverse.
This piece represents the 王将 (Ōshō – King), the most important piece in the traditional Japanese chess game Shogi. It is often collected not only for play, but as a symbol of wisdom, protection, and authority.
Sourced directly from a Japanese Government Auction, guaranteeing authenticity.
Each stroke of the bold black calligraphy was applied by hand, making this tile a wonderful example of mid-Showa Japanese craftsmanship.
Due to age, this vintage item shows natural patina and light surface marks. Please review all photos carefully.
