This plate was sourced directly from a Japanese Government Antique Auction, ensuring authenticity and collectible value.

The piece has a striking decagonal (10-sided) form, with repeating geometric border patterns surrounding the central scene. The reverse bears the mark “Satsumayama” (薩山窯), confirming its kiln origin in the historic Satsuma region of southern Kyushu.

Satsuma ware is known for its delicate crazing glaze and refined hand-painting, making it highly desirable among collectors of Meiji-era ceramics.
