Authentic 1980s Japanese Vintage Maneki Neko Lucky Cat Coin Bank

Bring traditional Japanese good fortune into your home with this authentic 1980s Japanese vintage Maneki Neko (招き猫), a beautifully crafted Lucky Cat sourced directly from a Japanese Antique Government Auction.

This cheerful Maneki Neko features the classic raised paw welcoming prosperity, happiness, and good fortune. It wears a decorative green bib with a bell around its neck and proudly holds a traditional koban coin marked with 千万両 (Senman Ryō), symbolizing immense wealth and prosperity. The red plaque in its raised paw reads 開運 (Kaiun), meaning "Good Fortune" or "Luck."

The figure includes a coin slot on the back, allowing it to function as a decorative savings bank.

Because the figure is permanently sealed and was acquired through a Japanese antique auction, the exact internal composition cannot be confirmed. It appears to be made from mixed materials, and the body has a durable, smooth painted finish typical of Japanese decorative pieces from the Showa Period.

Whether displayed in a home, office, business, tea room, or Japanese-themed collection, this Lucky Cat represents one of Japan's most recognizable cultural symbols and makes a wonderful gift for collectors and lovers of Japanese décor.

Every item in our collection is carefully sourced from official Japanese antique auctions, ensuring authenticity and historical provenance.
