Antique Kimono Silk Tsurushi Bina Mobile 1920s-40s Fabric Handmade Art

A museum-level Japanese hanging textile artwork inspired by traditional Tsurushi Bina (つるし雛), created from authentic antique kimono silk dating from the Taisho to early Showa period (1920s–1940s).

This exceptional piece was entirely hand-sewn approximately 10 years ago by an elderly Japanese artisan using preserved antique kimono fabrics. The creation process required nearly three months of meticulous handwork. No machine stitching was involved.

Each suspended ornament carries traditional symbolism rooted in Hinamatsuri (Girls’ Day) culture — representing wishes for protection, prosperity, health, femininity, and long life. The red structural ring and tassels symbolize celebration and spiritual protection.

Materials include:
• Antique silk kimono fragments (1920s–1940s)

Unlike mass-produced festival decorations, this example reflects true artisan construction using aged silk textiles with natural patina and historical character.

The condition is excellent and has never been displayed since completion.
