This elegant set of five authentic vintage Japanese Owan bowls dates to the 1970s Showa period and was sourced directly from a Japanese Government Auction.

Crafted from lightweight bamboo wood and finished in a rich deep-red lacquer, each bowl is decorated with beautiful gold ōgi (fan) motifs — a traditional Japanese symbol associated with prosperity, celebration, happiness, and longevity.

These traditional Japanese lacquer bowls were designed for serving soup, rice, and ceremonial dishes during family gatherings, seasonal celebrations, tea occasions, and formal meals.

The smooth lacquer finish and elegant gold decoration reflect the refined aesthetics of traditional Japanese dining culture. Their balanced shape and lightweight feel make them both functional and highly decorative.

This complete set includes the original vintage storage box, adding authenticity and collector appeal.

Unused vintage Japanese lacquerware sets in this condition are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially with original packaging preserved.

This is authentic vintage Japanese tableware and not a modern reproduction.
