This is an authentic 1940s Japanese Satsuma ware (薩摩焼) incense burner (香炉), sculpted as a wild boar with a small bird on its back. It is a highly detailed, hand-painted Iroe Satsuma (色絵薩摩) pottery piece, sourced directly from a Japan Government Auction.
